Recent Research Activities in Wireless Communications and Sensing

September 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Wireless communication and sensing technologies are advancing rapidly, driven by the growing demand for intelligent, connected systems and future 6G applications. Experimental measurement platforms, radar systems, and software-defined radios (SDRs) play an essential role in evaluating emerging concepts and translating theoretical research into practical solutions. This seminar presents an overview of recent research in wireless communications, sensing, and experimental platforms. Topics include measurement activities conducted at Florida International University, selected radar measurements for drone detection, and the development of experimental and prototyping capabilities at NYU Abu Dhabi. The seminar will also introduce plans for upcoming SDR-based measurement campaigns for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), present recent simulation results on the impact of drone platforms on antenna performance, and highlight ongoing hardware and demonstrator development for future experimental research.
